Mr. Capussi, a 3generation Farmer, has been in the agricultural business for most of his life. He joined JC Fresh Farms in 2007 under the mentorship of his farther who owned and operated other greenhouse facilities since the late 70’s. In 2018, Mr. Capussi took over for his Father at JC Fresh Farms. Not long after, he strategically Partnered with Mr. Tatomir, whom took over Operations allowing Mr. Capussi to focus his time into Business/Facility Development throughout North America. Mr. Capussi has a passion for taking part in any Research and Development that supports Growers, and promotes sustainability through newly developed growing techniques to further advances in automation.
Mr. Capussi family has long history in the region. Under his Leadership, The Capussi Family maintains control over a number of real estate and agriculture projects.
Mr. Wiebe has been leading agriculture maintenance Teams for over 10 years. He manages state-of-the-art facilities aligning with a full maintenance Team, to ensure the best growing conditions are sustained at all times. Mr. Wiebe is responsible for adhering to strict ESA Standards practices and preventative maintenance schedules. He empowers his Team to make quick operating decisions that directly impact the viability of the crops. Mr. Wiebe leads all communications with key vendors relating to parts and job quotes. He reports directly to Leadership on key financial decisions that directly impact the companies stated proforma. Mr. Wiebe was a key Lead on building one of the most state-of-the art facilities in Canada. Under his leadership, the site was successfully completed in 2021. He has a passion for growing and is looking forward to expanding his knowledge base every single day.
Mr. Castelli is the Human Resources & Research & Development Manager for all facilities. He oversees the TFW/H2A program which consists of more than 200 migrant labour workers that support operations from all over the world. These relationships span the Eastern Carribbean as well as the Spanish Nations. Mr. Castelli is responsible for all Corporate documentation surrounding local hiring efforts and applicable government/regulatory audits with respect to our hiring/housing practices. In addition, Mr. Castelli has more than 10 years of Research & Development experience. He is a key contributor to the development of thousands of varieties of tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers, which have beecome key drivers to achieving higher yields for Operators accross the globe. Mr. Castelli has been the Lead, in documented trials in Canada and throughout the United States and was a key contributor providing distinguished feedback on the heavily leveraged Duelle variety. Mr. Castelli has key relationships with over 2 dozen seed companies and works closely with the growing Team to collect this data an and share with select companies. He has presented his findings to some of the worlds top retailers which include Costco, and Loblaws.
Mr. Peters is a Master Grower and has trained under some of the worlds top talent. He was a Lead Grower and key Team Member of Sunset Produce for 23+ years. Mr. Peters’ experience in the high-tech agriculture space spans all aspects of Operations including maintenance, labour management, trial management and overseeing day-to-day operations of hundreds of acres. In addition, his knowledge spans multiple growing systems such as the ISII, Hortimax, Hogendorm, and Work-It. Mr. Peters also manages facilities that employ LED lighting systems. His expertise spans a diverse crop base including but not limited to: tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, strawberries, raspberries and also has a vast knowledge of the organic growing methodology employed in a number of facilities throughout North America. Mr. Peters is responsible for all key decisions related to the crop and presents daily to the Chief Operating Officer on growing conditions and key operating opportunities and headwinds.
Ms. Lachapelle has been working in the agriculture sector for the past 22 years. Brenda is the key Controller at the facilities and oversees all areas of accounting and is a key contributor on building out the annual proforma. Ms. Lachapelle coordinates all accounts payable & receivable for all facilities in addition to maintiing direct payable contacts at all key vendor institutions. In addition, Ms. Lachapelle provides key support and guidance on the facilities inventory planning and ordering processes as it relates to all packaging materials which ensures inventory levels are maintained during peak growing periods of the season. Ms. Lachapelle oversees a modest support Team and is well positioned for growth.
Mrs. Correia has been in the high-tech greenhouse space for over 18 years, spanning a multitude of crops including tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, runner beans and strawberries. She leads the Administration and Compliance and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Health & Safety program. In addition, Mrs. Correia is responsible for Regulatory Compliance and is a primary collaborator on all key system operating procedures which include Food Safety, Health & Safety, Bio Security, inventory management, quality control, Government Inspections, and TFW oversight. Mrs. Correia holds a number of certifications in the areas of Compliance and Food Safety. She is proud of achieving 100% audit scores in Food Safety and maintaining a Gold Standing in a Healthy Workplace.
Mr. Stasko is the Head Grower and a fourth-generation farmer. His 10+ years of experience span a diverse crop base including potatoes, peppers, tomatoes and strawberries. Mr. Stasko has specialized in peppers, specifically at our Orangeline Farms site, where he has overseen more than 100 different varieties. He is also proud of the fact, he was one of the first Growers in Ontario to trial greenhouse-grown strawberries. His research and collected data was recognized when he was awarded the Ontario Premier's Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence in 2016. Mr. Stasko continues to conduct research on new varieties of peppers for various seed companies and has run extensive lighting trials on a number of crops. He has a passion for community, educating children on greenhouse projects, supplying them with plants and sharing his knowledge with them on the hydroponic growing process. Mr. Stasko was selected as one of Greenhouse Canada's Top 10 Under 40 in 2018, recognizing the next crop of greenhouse industry Leaders. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture from the University of Guelph in 2011.
Mr. Moreno has been in the high-tech greenhouse space for over 20 years. He is responsible for hundreds of Temporary Foreign Workers that are directly involved in the harvesting and crop work at all facilities. He is a key success factor to operations as he builds material relationships with our front-line Team. He consistently collaborates with Leadership discussing any potential headwinds that may impact the labour budget set annually. In addition, he oversees Team Leads to ensure a quality crop is performed which adheres to strict growing practices and the first grade produce that we have become known for. Mr. Moreno is the key architect in the building of our employee based incentive programs which drive labour efficiencies. He co-ordinates with the packhouses on labour needs and repositioning as necessary in order to meet strict labour budget goals. He has built relationships throughout the world and is proud of the foundational support he has provided TFW's and their families back home.
